The UberQuick Mission Generator had an aircraft selection screen which sorted aircraft types by country/year/type of engine/nos. of engines. I think it also integrated with IL-2 modded, but cant remember how. You had to edit some of the files to add the new aircraft in.

This is a typical listing from the aircraft.ini file.
I think the numbers are code for the country and types etc
So you can just add lines for moddded aircraft.
Its also possible to add maps. Again I cant remember how.
(F) A-20C (1941),A_20C,default,370,221,1235,20
(F) A-20G (1943) [pf],A_20G,default,370,221,5,17
(F) B-17D (1941) [pf],B_17D,default,370,1,22,5
(F) B-17E (1941) [pf],B_17E,default,129,1,27,4
(F) B-17F (1942) [pf],B_17F,default,370,1,27,4
