Is it possible to have no tracers at-all?

elbarto said "some guys prefered not to use tracers because it tipped off the enemy " This may very well be true, but of all the gun-cam footage I've ever seen shows tracers. Just because one group did things differently does not mean everone did it that way. I spent 8 years in the Marines and US Army as an infantry officer and we ALWAYS had a tracer every 3rd or 5th round.
My father a Marine fighter pilot from WWII always used tracer ammo as did all Marines. A side note here, the Marines can be so anal at times and if someone would have suggested to stop using tracers because the Army pilots were doing it, then you can rest assured it would NEVER be adopted by Marines with something like this being said "We're not the F___ING Army we're Marines and if the Marines didn't want us using tracers they whouldn't have issued it to us!" There would have been more profanities.

GADGET said "have been using no-tracers for years in WB and AH with .50cal"

What is WB and AH? flight sims I assume?

I really did think about it, so don't be so quick to dismiss other people's ideas!"

Yes, but would I have gotten such a good response with a more lame version! LOL!

You said you always had a tracer in your magazine when you were in the infantry?
I served in the cavalry last year (norwegian army) and i NEVER used any tracer rounds when firing my G3A3. We used tracer rounds when we used the MG3 (about every 5th to 7th round during the summer, 'cause the tracer would actually set fire to the grass etc) and 12,7 HPS (Its basically the same as your M2 browning, but we use another softmount and a quick change barrel that i haven't seen on "foreign" M2's.) But regarding my personal issue rifle, the G3, i never used tracers and i can't remember that i actually wanted to use them either.. Tracers give away your position, even though having a mag with tracers might be practical if you want to mark a target.. But all in all, in my opinion, one should shoot so accurate that you dont need a tracer round to see where you're shooting.
