Photographically, the first shot is best, as aerial film footage or objects at speed naturally looked a little grainy for the era. The remaining static shots are too grainy, IMO. Still cameras of the day were quite good in B&W, with most out of focus shots were due to photographer error more than the equipment or film.
So, there's no reason why they should appear so grainy. Just a slight "unsharpen" in photoshop and adjustment to contrast might yield a better effect. HTH.
