I seem to recall that this ship was deployed to 'Nam and was spotted at quite a distance by another USN vessel (a DD) who in typical naval bravado made a radio call to the as yet unidentified ship to give ID or be fired upon, Whereupon the Battleship which was waaaay to far out of range to be engaged by the destroyers guns but was in range of the BB replied "This is the USS Iowa Fire at will"...
