This is most certainly not a 30 mm (did you mean .30 inch?). It is a jacketed hollowpoint pistol bullet (I'd guess 9 mm), and as such would never have been used in the war. The bullets used in MGs are rifle bullets, the ones from the Hurricane looks like this:

If you are after a 20 mm shell, as fired by the Bf 109's, it looks like this:

The film is beautifully shot, but the opening screen states "Summer 1942". The Battle of Britain was fought in 1940, the planes used (Bf 109E and Hurricane Mk.1) would have been relegated to training and other secondary roles by 1942.
