In a nutshell, you must remember that a laptop is a pc with all componets reduced to the minimum/extreme, its a reality. Off course it can play games, but don't be taken for a ride, it is not a gaming PC, whatever the salesman told you, he lied
I advice that you buy in the future a gaming pc.
in the meantime post your confi file etc & we can advice on how to get the most out of your pc.
