Curious, no I-185 there? Even Mustang III is fastest, if there are a bit of turns, the Polikarpov beats any plane... Mustang needs very straight race to achieve its maximum speed...
On unlimited races with free plane selection I find there are groups of pilots, the I-185 ahead, and just behind a mix of Mustangs, La-7, and Yak-3 Vk-107, depending on pilot skills.
Sometimes I've seen rarely Spitfire, P-63, Tempest and Bf-109G-2 on very tight turn races. They are capable to leave behind any plane just after the start of the race, but only by short time.
One day, one guy went to race with a Gladiator (expecting the rest of the pilots to crash in a new race totally unknown), we all laughed, but at the end, all crashed except one La-7 and the Gladiator, there was an intense moment when the La-7 ran out on fuel, arrived to runway gliding, and had to retain energy to cross the finish line at the end of the runway Had the La-7 crashed or not arrived to finish line and a Gladiator would won all!
Another question, I read on Simairracing rules that the recommended fuel is 25%. That mean very short time of flight in some planes, barely enough to fly at 110% with WEP enabled and radiator closed... When engine management really counts is on races that lasts from 15 to 30 minutes, when 50 to 100% is needed, and fuel to load is another parameter to take into account and decide, also if there are changes of altitude on the race... A dive with more weight, more speed, more cool air for the engine...
Well, interesting anyway, I've always wanted to race against others all in the same planes... error margins must be minimum and pilot really counts!
