As a matter of fact I have the same problem. Installed the mod in MODS, added the lines to static, and still those clumsy beggars, instead of smart infantry.

Does it really have to do with removing some lines from the static file? And if so, which ones?

My guess would be is to make sure in the mission itself in the FMB that those objects show as the new guys (instead of the old ones). Remember now that both sets of figures are in the setup is my understanding. Hope that helps some.
