Canon's Channel map is a hard map to install properly. Even though it looks great and is one of the best maps made in terms of effort, it would be better if you leave this particular map on hold for a while, until you get the hang of installing mods and maps and new aircraft.

Otherwise you will be in for a frustrating experience. There are many great maps to choose from, no dearth of maps at all. Install a few easy ones and then take it from there. Then look around here and on other sites what you can all find in terms of ready made missions.
