Well, I hope we're dealing with two options here, as far as Mr flying_spud is concerned:
a) his post was supposed to be a joke/trolling attempt/fishing bait, not very funny or original for that matter, or...;
b) he's most likely a novice Il-2 player, not very familiar with sim's development history and not aware of the fact that planeset choice / modelling is not Mr OM's and his workers' job anymore - it has been mostly 3rd party teams' job for a long time (since Manchuria / Pe-2 addon If I recall correctly?). The result is - if the 3rd party team doesn't want or cannot model all those marvellous UK planes - they won't and nobody will force them to do so. On the other hand If they have a fancy idea of modelling planes from Italy/Burkina Faso/The Moon/Whatever, they will do it, not giving a flying $hit about Mr flying_spud's opinion. They do it in their free time and thay have a right to do so. And I have a right not to fly these new Italian birds, cause I'm not interested in them anyway. To each his own.
If neither of options a) and b) apply, then I'm afraid I must agree with Robo's reply three posts above.
Cheers
