I always hesitate to critique some of this work, because I don't know a thing about how to do it myself.
You seem to be on the right track with those various shades of aluminum. The only problem I have with it, is how pronounced the rivets are. It's something I see on a lot of skins. Kind of like the old Revell plastic model kits.
Look at the Mustang photo on the previous page, and you'll see that even up that close, the rivets don't jump out at you all that much.
Tone those down, I think. Just a suggestion.

Yes, I say this too. It should be viewed as rivets on the surface of the airplane.
