I was just curious why a much needed map had not been produced up to this point but I suspect I think like a navy/bomber pilot and there aren't too many of us out there.@@@New question. Is there a way to merge this Rabaul map with the Solomons? I think I saw you address the subject of merging two land area maps with water boundaries somewhere; maybe over at SAS.

Well, sometimes I don't know why I choose a particular area either. Except for the SCW, I'm not usually very conversant with detailed events that happened on most map areas. At least not after the Great War at any rate ...

On merging maps, I think it is often simpler and quicker to make a new map from scratch ... especially if the two maps in question were made by different members or teams. You'd need the original layered files to do a good job, also the color and gray bmp's taken from the original DEMS and both maps would have to be to the same scale as well to overlap. Now if it were 2 islands bordered by water all around, then merging the maps might not be that hard. But the number of textures used would have to agree more or less and the texturing mapping per load.ini slot would have to match as well ...

I think it would be better to just make a new map of the area you're looking for.
