Your IL-2 stories: "I remember that time when..."
#4

As for the memory of the BoB's 70th anniversary, I created a mission for some RAF fighters, based at Hawkinge.
It's a MDS mission, thus it allows re-entry and the choice of different A/C's like SpitMk.I & II, Hurricane IIA & IIb, Beaufighter Mk.I.

The attackers comprise of the following: all enemy planes spawn the same time from different French aerodromes , Bf-110's lead the
charge with direct JaBo attacks on the base, followed by Stukas w/escort, attacking Chain Home Installations nearby.
The Stukas' 109 escort comprised of 8 fighters, which were to be divided into two groups of four, one group sticking with the Stukas,
the other flying to Hawkinge, to keep us busy.

No problem so far - a bit hectic, but hey! Smile

As for the heavies, I had two flights of He-111's scheduled for London, escorted by two flights of Emils, all of them at Halle 40 (4000m).

How could I have known, the 8 bombers would cross overhead, unobstructed, while we were busy fighting off the 110's and 109's with two
Hurris and a Spit, when all of a sudden the 111's escorts would dive down own us from 4.000 meters! Eight Me-109E's diving down at you
from up there! They ate us alive...and forget about respawning...that was an experience of total enemy local air-superiority!

One of our relentless chaps tried to get off base again and again, only to be shot down over and over and me and my bad mouth kept on laughing...

But fun nevertheless!

As for a solution I added two flights of AI to aid us humans. The mission is still hard, but now you're a sitting duck with a chance!
