Pilotenkneipe "Kirchturm 11"
#87

Hi Gerhard, so you're a "Köllche Jung"!? :Smile)
And you're playing some guitar! Just like Deutschmark! Smile
A hell of a lot of advertising, I have to say. Any German pilot will get blind!
Looks good though!

By the way, we are still in a German Kneipe and of cource anybody can "talk" German here!
And for Ted even in French! Even so I won't understand a bit...

Alright, and again. Like to invite anybody around to have a drink and a little bit of a smalltalk if you like.

Let me tell you a little story, just right from my very life, if I may?

I use to work in the IT and quite a few times it did happened, that a computer of a friend, family, customer or whomever
had a problem and nothing seems to work anymore. So I came by, had a look and did nothing, just sat down - had a look - talked to
the computer, like: "Oh what a good boy or girl!" fondled it once or twice, switched it on and: Voilà, it would start and everything was just fine!

Those faces and looks of the people around - awe and intangible.
And it made me something into an idiot or wizard. You may choose one!
They always started to ask what I was doing, what did I done, and so on..
and my answer was always - just a smile! :Smile)

You know the reason, I'm sure!

Even I didn't know why, it just worked. And in all those years I really learned to be patient and give it time....

A reason why I'm telling you this is: for a couple of weeks or even months now, my computer is playing tricks on me - and this one knows me really good! :-?
For what-so-ever reason my computer stops working, just like "that's it" and that's it. My keyboard freezes, my mouse is dead as well, the monitor and computer is on
and nothing goes anymore. After I turned the power off and on again, it starts like nothing happend. Only the event viewer shows that the system start because of a
power problem. I changed the power supply twice already - up to a 1,200 watt platinum part.

And I really tried any trick and knowledge I know and knew. No, not all. I didn't install my operating system new!
I really don't want to do that. I takes me days to install everything from scratch.
My RAM is ok, my graphics card is fine, all the drivers are up-to-date....

I've rather got the suspicion, that it might got something to do with an BIOS update I did quite a while ago.
I've got an Asus P6X58D-E motherboard (at least around 4 years old) and I did just one update of that Bios.
The settings I had to do again, because the old once where gone.
So I did this in the most careful manner for my hardware - and everything did and is working good, as far as I know!
But something is not working a 100% correct.

Just this morning my computer stopped working again....

Does anybody around might have an idea? 8)

Coffee - Tea all on me! Even a beer if you like! :Smile)

Thanks for listing to my story!

Jambo
