Assistance please! ..What Does....

...file-format module cannot parse the file mean in respect to .tga files and CS2? I thought tga's should open fine in photoshop!...anybody can assist in this please or pm me an answer!..what am i missing and how?

I had the same problem with some .tga files and PS CS2 also...

Not sure why. The same problem happens for me too. CS3 can't open them either. I'd go so far as to say that this is the biggest obstruction to future modding. I just hope we can find a way around it soon...

... maybe someone with 3dmax should try to open those .... as last resort

Woohoo! A small sucess. Smile

Found a free program called Xnview
http://www.xnview.com/

Allows you to see quite a few of the TGA's that CS won't open. Included amongst these is the Barrage Balloon and ordnance skins. Worth the 3.5mb download for sure!!!

Yup.... i'm using it ..... hence zero and spit reticle Big Grin

.... but it still won't let you edit the darn things!

the SFS extractor that you are using maybe old and if you look at the bottom of the extraction it usualy tells you that 1% of the files could not be extracted properly, this is mainly .tga files, out of say 10 .tgas there is usualy 3-4 that wont open. need to use other programmes for the rest and the ones that wont, may need a newer version.

It's a long shot, but..;

Martin Wright has made quite a few graphics tools for modding simulators over the years, if he hasn't already made one that can do it, he probably can, however if he will or not is the long shot.

well im using "sfs_extractor_v2.0_beta_11" from Tim's tools - is out there a newer version?
