hey guys thx for your help but you know thats the first thing i would do - i work through a slow process. i mainly always just start with cockpit & test then move onto next position, ok sometimes & rarely i do all at once but if i was to run into any problems the first thing i always do is bug test & that means going back to square 1 & keep it simple which means only with cockpit to begin with then sometimes i move onto tailgunner before bombsight & then bombsight ,it all depends. But yes i have tried b5n2 & b6n2 with only cockpit & they both do the same thing with the loadouts ive described. sorry but i will keep trying. keep up the ideas though guys :wink:

I think you might be best to focus your efforts on other planes for now. Since right now we don't know what causes the game to crash, perhaps if you can find some more planes with Payload problems you can find the common denominator??

Well I just realized that there are only certain planes in all the game that use both a bomb sight , carry torpedoes and large bomb loads, the Betty , H8 seaplane and the He111. No other torp plane have bombsights and the planes that do use the exact same sight the German one. Also the B5N2 carries the heavy loads off center. So the question is which is it, the off centre lie of the load or the bomb sight. As it acts the same without a bombsite as with one could it be the off centre load, but unless it has been tested with the German sight we cant rule out that a torpedo is only set to this one sight . One must belive that it should be possible to fly without a bombsite as the AI can do so. That then leaves use with the possibility that it has been coded so as to not allow a cockpit at all and carry a loadout and until that piece of coding can be removed or adjusted it may not be possible.
Even so, Grumman are probably having a hissy fit. :lol:
hey trooper - i guess i said that coz im wondering if he has delibratly made the kate difficult to do anything with - ive been told that the kate was very much wanted by the community & there are changes to the code (in 4.07/08) which makes it much more difficult to effect things that were easy to change in 4.05... so im thinking this is one of those problems they spent more effort making difficult for the likes of me lol but saying that i will keep trying - afterall there most probebly is a way to make the kate 100% flyable... i tell you what i could try& thats using the kate 3d files with another aircraft , you know basicly an fm swap. this will most likely work but we need the correct fm/dm for the kate to really make it correct
Perhaps you could swap the FM/DM of the bombs? What I mean by this is give the Kate an American Mk14 torpedo instead of the Jap one. Or perhaps give it an american Bomb. Or you could even overwrite the Japanese bomb with American bomb stats? Same with Torpedo?
