First of all: me

and after that : paint.net as it is specified in the title of the topic

you can grab it here

http://www.getpaint.net/ netframework is needed

avdvantage painty.net is free and powerfull it intergrates dds save and a lot off plug in

that are very useful

Disadvantage: there are few standart effect compares to the big drawings software like photoshop or paintshop pro so you have to work to make those effects but your screen doesn't looks like a "d

Hi I had fun with paint.net its great software but can i ask one question if you have time to answer.
i am trying to get an effect of an aircraft moving at speed so the foreground is clear and the background is blurred.
i managed to get this picture last night but its not quite the effect i wanted. If you can help then thanks if not not to worry im sure i will figure it out.

on a frontal view you can use the zoom effect or use a layer and copy/past your plane only, then apply a displacement effet or a zoom effect on the background then you can copy back you untouched plane to create the illusion of motion.

here i just use a zoom to focus on the the german pilot watching above him the plane he just killed dive .

the zoom effect onlu create the motion its a simple trick

Ah ha, stefostef! That's why I was asking Batz if paint.net allowed for selections and working in layers. The method you described is the most certain way of doing that kind of thing.

Does paint.net have "directional blur" or can it be added as a plugin? That would probably be the ideal effect to use, if it's available. I know you said that there are limited effects and plugins for it. Just wondering if "directional blur" is one of them that's available.
