Ar 234 with 4 engines
#1

Is it possible that one of the modders can make/ mod a 4 engine Ar 234? That would be great!

Many thanks in advance! 8)

Two, very obvious questions....

1) ...Why...?

2) Is this there any historical proof?

I dont mean to sound rude, mearly perplexed...?

There's a good picture of the 4 engined version in Axis Aircraft of WWII, D Mondey

The 4 engined version was the Ar234C. In addition to various prototypes a total of only 14 Ar234C-1/-3s were produced. There is no reference to them being delivered to operational units before the production facilities were captured.

Probably only justified for "1946" scenarios.

Possibility of being added. Now that we can add aircraft why not...

i believe there was also an ar234 version with 2 20mm in a belly pack, would be fun for the ground attack pilots

1) It would be more realistic than a Lerche.

I dont care about not real things, ideas deserve to be put into consideration. Ideas that were never built... doesnt make it unhistoricaly accurate. It makes it evolve into a war that could have happend.

hell even i would make the Focke-Wulf Fw Triebfluge

It might not make some people happy seeing odd aircraft. but still it was a Development idea and i do belive it would be rather cool to see luft46 planes arise. It would also attract people from a more modern ara of plane to play. If you dont like them then dont have them on your server.
Sounds like a Idea to me.

Il2 Modern warfare any one ?? XD

WW2 1939-1950's "Hitler Dies 2003" .. world could be plenty different.

Well the lerche is just silly, but you have a point. Forgive me, I had no idea such a varient even existed. Well you learn something new everyday.

So I have but no alternative but to say +1 (the quad engined version actually looks rather nice).

I still prefer the usual 4 engine Arado under the wings than these. They look , a little ugly with all those engines everywhere :?

There were at least two Ar234s fitted with ventral forward firing gunpacks. One was used in Italy for ground attack purposes and even, on one occasion, shot at a Spitfire. More details are in the Kagero book on the Ar234.

first pic is what would've been the production model, 4 engines and 2 rato packs, think the lower pic is the prototype where they had to use teh cluster of lower power engines...
nad yeah i htink i do still prefer the arado over this in terms of looks, but it has a freaky charm, and a remote turret in the tail, way better than the fixed 20's in the arado... then again, if you need them you are flying too slowly!

Great idea for the Arado, as long as it's adequately researched before given a flight model of it's own.

There's also a nightfighter version with the previously mentioned 20 mm cannon gondola.
