Bf-109K-14 ?

Is there any possibility to make project version K-14 of Bf-109?

It had 4 blade propeller, fixed MK-108 gunpods under wings (same as in 109Z) and 2 stage supercharger.

The DB-605L engine was destined for this aircraft, reportedly developing some 1700PS for take off, without boost (designed for around 2000PS with MW-50). It was derived from the 605D and fitted with a two-stage hydraulic supercharger, probably developing around 1250PS at 9km, or 1700PS under boost at 8km. Combat at 5-7km would be in the order of the ASC engine, around 1800PS under boost at 5km, whilst at higher altitude it would really give enemy pilots something to worry about.

I'm guessing a top speed in the vicinity of 730km/h. Climb rate, I'd say would be the biggest design goal, probably 8min to 8km.

And now question is if making such a FM is possible? Because despite propeller and gunpods there are hardly any changes in appearance so I think making it is possible for great miracle-making modders here Tongue

Oh yes, that would definitely rock!
But the 108's were more like integrated in the wing, with bulges covering them, like the MG FF/M in the 109 E.
(Oh, and don't forget the later 190 variants, like the D-11 and D-13 Tongue )

As we saw with the F4U-4, the 4 bladed propeller would be the hardest part of this.

would absolutly love to see her in the game.

I suspect Ranwers knows where the rabbit is kept in the magic trick :!:
K-14 is usable, but I think its actual service history would have been muted by the Ta-152C which it would have served beside, been made obsolete by and probably withdrawn against.

It's a great plane for interest sake, but I'd love to see a production variant Ta-152C-1, C-2 and C-3 versions in the game (variant selected by armament option), featuring the DB-603L engine with the intercoolers (the il2 model is the less reliable 603LA of the C-0). I'd guess they'll go in the wings like Messerschmitt radiators.
With the reliability issue of the Ta-152C fixed the Axis finally has a high performance late-war/post-war fighter type every bit the equal of anything in the Allied arsenal. I mean the C-0 unserviceability just kills it against say, the P-47D (150-octane).

In a 1946 campaign for example, why is German industry still handicapped by production quality, assuming the industrial/war machine is in a totally different state?
The HGII Me-262 and Go-229 should also be re-modelled for reliability similar to the MiG-9, since similar manufacturing processes would have been used as the post-war Russian remanufacture of the Jumo/BMW jet engines.

Just some thoughts. Hope we get an Me-109T as well. I want to give Germany an aircraft carrier. Is the carrier version of the Ju-87C also called the Ju-87T?

I'd fly the K-14 over a Ta-152 anyday Wink

I'd fly both any day. Tongue
The Ta-152 C should be corrected as a new version in a new slot anyways, from what i've read MG made the wing area too small and newer models would have been used in a 1946 scenario. OM modelled the one produced and used at the end of WW2. Why should we operate with a prototype version with wartime manufacturing deficiencies, when we're flying in the year 1946? More power to the Ta 152 C-1! etc the other versions... Tongue
And btw i like the 1946 scenario very much. And it seems some other people like it too. At least very late war/ what would have been used end of 1945 and '46.

the 262 HG is realiable, just don't slam the throttle! as long as you increase/decrease progressivaly you should be fine until someone shoots ur engine . if that happens just turn the smoked engine off, put the nose slightly down and if you cruise at around 350mph or more it shouldnt explode, itll just start burning then the flames will stop and so on, until you land, which i recommend to get the hell out of the plane or hit refly as soon as its stopped because at slow speeds it tends to explode.

dunno i personally never exploded by a damaged engine unless i was blown up when the engine was hit. i think the go229 is the same, not sure tho.

I'm still unconvinced. It seems to me the tendency to flame and the sudden leap to catastrophic failure is entirely derived of the substandard steels used in impeller manufacture. Neither of these issues are as pronounced in either the Soviet remanufactured engines, both Jumo and BMW (given by the service records of the Yak-15/17 and MiG-9 which returned both, pre-eminent reliability, these aircraft in particular were famed for it of the early jets, keeping them popular into the Korean War by operators like China and North Korea, alongside the Yak-9P, La-7/9 and Il-10).

This is the kind of reliability and serviceability the German jets should have in a 1946 campaign of even footing.

I like to also consider the most realistic 1946 campaign involves the success of the historical Smolensk Plot early in 1943, in which the Wehrmacht institutes a provisional government based in France. The Waffen-SS were much smaller in number then and there was the only genuine chance of altering the war against the League-allied nations. In this event German industry would never have suffered the tremendous assaults of the 8th Air Force, since firstly the Eastern Front would have necessarily been withdrawn to the Wotan Line before Kursk (providing Manstein the opportunity of his ingenious counterattack that he favoured instead with regular Panzer divisions outfitted with SS gear), whilst up to an entire Luftflotte would have been immediately freed for defence of the Reich a year early.
I think Germany would have been in a much better position to defend Ploesti from the 15th (?) Air Force and the Kursk situation would have been reversed, with the Wehrmacht now dug in at the line Leningrad to Kiev and the Russians would have been approaching headlong into hardened defences.

Point is, totally different state of German industry coming into the crucial year 1944.

anyway, back to the bf109k14, i like the idea, but think it has to be a totally new file, i hate when the files replace old planes that i like to still keep

please consider this with the mod
