BF109 bug - black smoke's engine without damage
#1

Hello guys.
A few days ago (until today) my squadmates had reported that when I'm flying Bf109s my plane looks like damaged with a black smoke from my engine. I asked them to take some screens. I'll post as soon as I get them.

I've also noticed some pilots with the same smoke.

In my screens or even recorded tracks it doesn't show. But other pilots can see that.

I've read in other post that the problem (the poster reported the problem with Spitfire) could be solved reinstalling AC Installer. I did it but the bug wasn't solved.

Does anyone here had noticed the same problem?
Is there anyway to solve that?

thanks,

Which 109 were you flying? Which 109 related mods have you used/installed?

On the Spitfires you refer to, it isn't the AC installer that fixes it, but the removal of a sliding canopy mod.

sorry magpie, but buttons files contain data for open canopy and they do come with ACInstaller so Strafe may be right here ....

you may notice that with ACinstaller v2.2 you no longer have open canopy option for spit VIII

Got the same problem. In Bf-109F4, other Bf's are OK.
Mods used : All holes solved + new Freddy's cockpit pack. Not sure about Ground dust mod.
Solution : using F4 from previous cockpit pack

Bf109 F versions have black smoke which look like damage.
It was real in Bf109. This "problem" save a lot of Luftwaffe pilots life in WW2, becouse, when pilot
take full power in dive, engine for some seconds make black smoke, wich look like damage.
Then allied pilot, who shoot to Bf109 some seconds before, think " I got one".
But if black smoke is all of time it's realy problem in the game.
Sorry for my english.

Hello guys,

I've just been warned about this bug and i immediately did some tests with team-mates of my squad.

Yes,the AHS mod is causing this bug

Here are the details

It concerns ONLY the Me109-F4 and is linked to the code from Ju88-Mistel i inserted into the 109-F4 java code, although i didn't touch FM/EM/DM...

So,if you or every player around you have installed the AHS mod, then you and the other players won't see NO BUG AT ALL with the 109-F4.

On this screen,Tomio and i are using the AHS mod,no soucy:

BUT,

If some players around you haven't installed the AHS mod, then those players will see the smoke behing the players' 109-F4 that have installed the AHS mod. Idea

On this screen, only Tomio (in backscreen) is using the AHS mod,Me: Nothing:

After having tested ALL OF the 15 standard Bf-109 of the game with my AHS mod, both in Dogfight & COOP missions,it appears that ONLY the 109-F4 shows this smoke problem.

Arrow This is logically related to the Ju88-Mistel java code that i inserted into the 109-F4 code.

A rapid trick would be to apply the "AHS code only" into the F4 code, leaving the Ju88-Mistel compatibility out,but i prefer to resolve the bug, then it will take me sometime. Idea

ps:
Arrow THANKS Tomio for your help! :!: :!:

hm...

if I should be truely...I like the smoke-bug...

...looks more...realistic to me.

Also, some time ago, I flew a Spit on a Coop-Server...

Peoples, who dont use mods, also saw smoke behind my plane...I didn't see it myself.

They asked me about it...and I had no answer.

Btw: could it be possible, to add exhaust-smoke to planes (like this bug does) ?

One question Hunin.

You can disable some specific files in order to solve the problem temporarily, until you find a solution? :?

This is a really serious problem and annoying for the flight online, and I think it could even be considered a cheat, because in my case that I am the only one in my squadron has it that allows my colleagues always know where I am

Thanks in advance

Yes,why not but i personally prefer to improve the very bad things concerning the 109s ingame.
Maybe another modder will find something interesting with my very unexpected smokebug with the Me109-F4

If I understand it correctly, this smoke is visible on the planes who are flown by people with this special mod?

here is a picture of a smoking spit8, the pilot had no answer what caused the smoke and didn't see it either.
