Tropicalised Hurricane?

It would be really nice if this TROP fighter had also, the TROP performances, not like the ufo mk5ccc that we have now, you know, something like beeing dead meat with no power above 3500m....or maybe also, applying another "engine-acceleration" parameter, not like the ufo-one we have now on all the spits (N

A small suggestion for TROP-versions of the Mk.I and Mk.IIb and IIc:

As a skinner, I'm a bit frustrated by the pre-coloured gun pods and tropical filters on the Mk.IId. Would it be possible to let the filter be skinned by the small chin-radiator intake that already is in the skin file:

This would allow Mk.I, IIb and IIc skins to be used with their respective tropical counterparts. An alternative would be to expand the lower engine cowling part to skin the filter, or to add new parts to the skin file (like on the tropical spitfire skinfile). The Hurricane skinfile is roomy enough to allow for the addition of new bits.

I'd be happy to give any assistance that can be done in Photoshop to get a skinable filter.

Ok, its rather simple really:

MrJolly spent weeks working on the mapping of the gun pods for the Hurricane, in the end the best that could have been achieved at the time with the tools available were the seperate .tga's for the guns. Unfortunately, unless you edit them independantly, you will be stuck with a generic colour.

All future aircraft will, hopefully, be much easier to skin. Considering this is the first aircraft added with new meshes added independently of 1C... I think its a fine situation to deal with.

If its something you wish to change, simply edit the appropriate .tga for that part.

The downside with this is, again, you will have a generic colour for every skin.

Luckilly most Trop MkI and MkIIb had either an azure underside or pale gley so there's only teo to choose from.

My suggestion was for the future planes, not for the Mk.IId we already have been given. I fully understand the problems of finding ways to map the guns. My suggestion was not a criticism of Mr. Jollys work, and as Kristorf pointed out, most of the Mk.IIds saw service in the dessert anyway.

The Mk.IIb TROP and IIc TROP on the other hand saw extensive service with squadrons in South East Asia under SEAC too. These had medium grey or sometimes sky blue undersides. Also, they don't have the guns to worry about. My post was just a suggestion of where to find suitable places on the skin file for the filter for these.

With Bf-109-F2/B and F4/B (drop tank and 250 Kg bomb)

Would be a great pack, but first of all a very usefull addition in the game.

Sorry to bump this two month old thread, but is anything going on with these "Trop" versions of the MK1, MKIIB & C ??
