New FM vrs Olegs world

I want to ask a question here. I wonder if we need to re-think how we're handling the aircraft mods and add ons?

As an example, it was stated that the new 190A3 will have a true to life flight model. But then the A-4 will become a downgrade, won't it? Are we going to end up with one set of aircraft programmed as close to historically correct as we can, and then another set of aircraft programmed according to the word of Oleg?

First off, if you look at the work released and sanctioned by AAA so far, you will get your answer...

...yes we are .... it's the only way to be sure that everybody has the same aircraft with same FM

Oleg's team were striving to make their planes realistic just as the AAA team do for theirs. Wether or not you agree with some fms is another matter. Since none of us have actually flown in world war two we can't be 100 % sure about anything.

Talk of flight models always gives me a headache. So much has been written about the flight characteristics of many aircraft and some of it is contradictory. Flight characteristics are affected by so many things. Air temperature and pressure, wind, fuel load and distribution, weapons and ammo load, presence or absence of armor plate, fuel quality, mechanical state of the engine and flight controls, and I'm sure there are even more subtle things that affect the way a plane flies. So which flight model is correct? I don't know, you certainly can't base it on how a restored aircraft flies as they do not fly with guns, ammo or armor and the fuel available today will not allow the engines to operate at their maximum rated output.

I do agree that in Il2, pilot skill is very important. I'm a dedicated Corsair pilot and I hear lots of gripes about how poorly it flies and how the 50 caliber machine guns won't damage or flame a Zeke. My experience has been different. If I get shot down, odds are it was my fault for not paying attention to what was going on in the rear view mirror. It's always the one that managed to sneak up on me or three that are tag-teaming me. If it's just one or two, I can usually get away from them by using tactics that were known by real Corsair pilots, roll over and dive or enter a gentle, climbing turn to starboard. The 50 cal's? I set Japanese planes on fire or disintegrate them routinely, but I pick my shots and only shoot when I am within the convergence distance.

If so, then why Fw-190 A-2/3 will have a new FM, is something wrong with other Antons flight model, which could be used ?

For a started the 190 series is completely flawed. The A8 lacks 200 Valuable HP for god sake. its no secret that the acceleration is completely wrong in a 190 to. Needing 50% power just to move on the ground is riculous.......... The A3 was lighter and better at low altitudes

Hawk, with all respect, I asked about differences between A-3 and A-4 version not A-8.

Ok, I must stopped right now. It was a small provocation, and I'm sorry for that.
I just wanted, that somebody from AAA Mod Team finally said it loud.

And I must do one thing for the last time.

I just want to ask AAA Team:

Is there any chance that we could have, somehow, other versions of Anton with proper FM.
I'm sure that such creative persons like you guys can find different way to add correct Wurgers as a new slot planes.

Maybe, for example A-6 cold be renamed to A-6 1.42 ATA with new slot...I don't now, it's just a thought... you guys are Wizards here.

making ones with accurate FM's is easy. You duplicate the model right the new fm and class and its done. Just alot of work for something we already have and there is a huge back log of mods to get through.

oh and btw, i only used the A8 as an example. All the 190's are underpowered.

I dunno about you, but the '44 Dora seems pretty powerful to me. Big Grin
