More realistic AI ?

Hawk Wrote:Ok but i have a question.

What happens when somebody hosts a coop with the modded AI and somebody joins with out the mod?
Will they fly like the hosts or will it mess everything up?

It will most likely cause a conflict...

My all time favorite AI manuver...your on his tail & both are climbing and you are a constant .60 behind him. this goes on and on and on and on & you are both at 220 kph in the clime when the AI pulls straight up for 1000m + and drops down on you in complete control & blows you the hell...

That's almost as good as the rear gunner that shoots through the rear of his aircraft to kill you when you are below and directly his 6...

Ha ha...It does keep the challenge going though...

Eddie - I think the answer is no mate!

Try contacting Buddye from A2A sims forums, he created BoB2 AI code, which is the most realistic in the whole world today IMHO.

I tried to find the relevant files myself but I failed.I tried then to contact a member of the AAA team but I was ignored.I always thought this part of the sim extremely important for the necessary realism and extremely fascinating to work on.Please if you need an extra man to work on please contact me (unfortunately I am quite busy at the moment, but I 'll try my best), I am have a soft spot about this subject.

Thank you, really appreciated. I battle for 5 hours last night trying to figure out which files to edit, to no avail Sad and I thought” stuff this" but you gave me some hope this morning Smile Please do let me know when you have some time (I'm also quite busy these days and I'm also working on my MTO campaign)

Hi Guys

I just want to add encouragement to your search. This one single thing if you can crack it will crank up this game by 1 gigantic notch. As I am sure you are aware, this is the realm of programming AI aces to behave the way they actually did - as best as we can reconstruct.
It also may hold some of the secrets of how to get AI to fly in various historically correct formations and all that jazz too.
Very exciting.

A better realistic AI with no "look cheats" and sniper gunners would be soooooo cool

I hate that I always know what the AI will do when I am after then

Sorry guys, no luck with this. After spending 10 hours nonstop on this, I just cannot crack it. It happens when graphic designers think they can program Smile

You'd have to edit the files under com/maddox/il2/ai i guess.
But you cannot extract the class files with the sfs extractor, you'll have to use the class dumper (found here http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...php?t=2272) or the resource dumper (found here viewtopic.php?t=3240), which has all the class files already in an archieve after you download it.
You then have all the class files you need.
Resolving the hashed files, decompiling them, editing them and then recompiling and hashing them is a whole different beast...
