for mods to work you must have either mod activator or sound mod installed .

...since you have option to choose between enabled mods without new sounds ( mod activator ) and with new sounds ( sound mods 9.0 -9.03 ...) AC Installer simply needs to know which version you have installed . So just hit appropriate number key for your sound mod ( or mod activator) version .

Just happened. I tried to install a Creative X-Fi card. Had problems with it. Uninstld and got my comp to normal.

I go to play game, I hear familiar clicks on menu, HOWEVER, after I hit FLY.....No SOUND.

BUT there is sound on the internet, Media player. All is normal.

I checked conf.ini for settings/ in game audio settings..set to default...nothing.

I re-installed Sound mod 9.3, Wrapper dll, AC installer 2.3 (pointed to 9.3 when asked.)

Play game. No engine/gun sound internal/external, BUT have tower and pilots communications.

At least, I'm moving closer. Now I need the input of the brains in our community.

Thanks ahead,

Have you checked the batteries in your hearing aid grampa? Tongue

Hi Bakshi, nice to see you here...hope a brainier guy than me can help. Seems as if the only problem is with the sounds that are modded? Perhaps the option of installing the mods without modded sounds would be best and then cherrypick some of the individual sound mods that you like to put in your mods folder. I'm not the brightest at this so hopefully someone else will know better.

Catch you later friend

The question is can I now over/instl 9.3 with Mod Activater or not? Also Hurri IID Vickers Cannon is not alive, just the Browning guns. All this because of trying to upgrade to X-Fi.
I've heard somewhere in a post here that someone had problems with Creative drivers....hmmm

Hi all,

I finally solved the above problem (with some help)
In desperation, I started hitting ALL switches I could find in the game. When I went to Hardware Setup/ Audio/Sound, I turned off the Enable Extensions switch. Having the game in auto, all of a sudden sound came from the Heavens...or so it seemed.

Now, the mystery is that I NEVER go to that screen, and never turned it on to begine with...mystery...honest

NOW.... : 8) 8) 8)   Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin You lads know that feeling of exhileration, come on........fess up to it.

Many thanks to all and especially to Whizz and Crazy Schmidt.
