Allied WWII experiment and 'what if' 1946 aircrafts
#1

Since people have been making list for any modder to looka to next ideal project. I thought I would post list of experiment and 'what if' 1946 for Allied and axis experiment and 'what if' 1946 after this. However, I am also adding references and blueprint where I hope wlll provide to save modder time looking for basic reference/blueprint needed for making new aircraft, thank to 3D model converter tools made for Il-2 1946! I also must give a big thank to every of these who worked together on creating these tools, without these, completely new add-on aircraft with theri own unique model would not be possible. Now its all possible, so I am willing to do whatever it take to help modder making their life easier by doing basic research and find references/blueprint for each of these aircraft in the list. And to these whom want to see any specific Allied WWII experiment and 'what if' 1946 aircraft added ot this list, post these following information:

1) Name of aircraft
2) Link to references/background/data
3) link to blueprint (VERY IMPORTANT! AAA modders really need this, because without blueprint, the modder diffcult time trying to model an accurate model without model references.)
4) links aircraft photos (more the merrier)

And one more thing, if one of AAA modder are dong project on one of aircraft in the list, I will label these specific aircrafts in list as "WIP", in order, to keep community up to date on which aircraft are being worked on.

Keep in mind these list are incompleted and I will do the same for historical plane suggestion list, with all references/blueprint included. My goal of this thread is to make list of suggestion where it also provide basic information, referiences, photo, and blueprint that would save alot of time for modder when one of them want to start project on any of these planes anytime in future.

I found this site and there are 'project' ac for various countries.........

I think that the British sections might be helpful in filling out your 'list'.......

Of course, the Japanese and German sections are interesting too, but thats another subject, right!?

Fear not, I have been doing many updates to my post and I included Briitsh and Russia while will include the rest of another allied nation for their own WWII experiment and 'what if' 1946 aircrafts. I just had too many things in my mind, and I was planning adding a new thread for Briitsh and Russia version. But I decided to merge all 3 into single thread.

Allied and Axis sounds like a good idea........

Your thread, which ever you think is better........

'Grouping' will mean less repetitive posts and might draw more interest!

I'd like to see the Chain lightning, what a monster! Dual engines? F7F, what a beauty!

I have found these extremely interesting picture, based on project british was working on during WWII from this forum below:

B.44 Project

http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/6750/b2customed3.jpg

Type 'C"

Quote:This project dates back to 1943 and is part of an RAF brief for a 'super bomber' with long range, adequate defensive armament and large bomb-load. The Type 'C' as the name suggests is one of several developments by Vickers in response to this brief (there were many other design from other leading aircraft manufacturers). However, it soon became apparent that at least five years would be needed to fully develop aircraft of this complexity and versatility. Coupled with the success of the Avro Lancaster and advent of practical jet propulsion made this (and the other proposals) redundant

Another type of British bomber projects

Can someone get more informations on these if its ever possible? These are something that some of AAA modder may be very interested into this for british 'what if' 1946 add-on to il-2 1946. Whoever are willing to give me more information on these will be truly appeircated. And at once the information arrives to this thread, I will add them to the list in my first post.

One thing, just a general question.............

Is IL2 '46, '46' enough? To be honest with you, given the number of '46' aircraft, I expected a lot more ac types! But the ones included helped!

I think the XB-35 would be a great addition to the game, this is something that was flown (with flaws yes) quite extensively from June '46 (fitting the catagory).

I have a fondness for flying wings, so seeing something like this would be great. I believe GIbbage made quite a bit of progress on a model of this. I don't know what he intended for it since he many times said it would not end up in the game, but I am sure someone could do it.

I wont hold my breath, but just wanted to lend my support for the plane.

Can you post these kind of information at Axis WWII experiment and 'what if' 1946 aircraft section at viewtopic.php?t=7570 for Luftwaffe 46' please, so that way I can start arranging more information in each 4 separate threads.

It will be big help to me if you start posting specific information at either of my 4 threads properly, but I truly appreciate you for getting more links to aircraft website!

More websites the better, but if you ever want to post any specific aircraft you wish to requests being added to 1946, just follow my 4 conditions of posting requests. And once again, thank you for your efforts with great motivate you are putting into this! Keep up these posts and I hope this kind of posts will inspirit AAA community into working more efficiently with modders!

I don't know where this would fall in but Poland was an ally. I was hoping some one could work on the What-if PZL P 50 Jastrzab. It was almost completed when the Germans invaded in 1939. The what-if factor is how would it have fared against the bf-109.

1. Name: PZL P 50 Jatrzab (I and II variants would be nice)

2. Pretty much all information could be found here:

http://www.aviastar.org/air/poland/pzl_p-50.php

3. Some more pictures and info (though its in polish but pics are good) are here:

http://www.odkrywca.pl/pokaz_watek.php?id=232844

I know its not 1946 but still think it falls into the What-If category.

Thanks in advance,

John

Please read my posting condition and when you fillull these following conditions, I will add these to the list:

1) Name of aircraft
2) Link to references/background/data
3) link to blueprint (VERY IMPORTANT! AAA modders really need this, because without blueprint, the modder diffcult time trying to model an accurate model without model references.)
4) links aircraft photos (more the merrier)
