Just comfirming this, this is supposed to be in allied part right? This confuses me a bit because this have german marking on that aircraft and I thought it might be supposed to be in axis thread?

To be honest, i'm not sure myself. Latvians were neutral at the beginning of the war, their airforce flew mainly Bulldogs and Gladiators (as you know, British made), but their national insignina was a red Swastika (somewhat similar to the Finn light blue one). They were attacked and occupied by the USSR in 1939, broke free for a short time in 1941 and declared independence but were then occupied by the Nazi.

So no, officially they were never "allied" but because they were under Nazi occupation i'd still consider them "allied".

The plane was captured by Germans and Luftwaffe evaluated it - that's why this plane has German markings.
