[VIDEO] Hair-raising Takeoff on Zip Zapp's Alpen map
#1

I was flying Zip Zapp's Alpen map, near the Matterhorn. Taking off from a mountain top nearby, the altitude proved to lengthen my run. I almost didn't make it- but the result was interesting none the less!

Thanks to the simulator creater Oleg Maddox and 1C, All Aircraft Arcade for some great add-ons, and Zip Zapp who authored a wonderful map of the alps! Produced using the combat flight simulator IL-2, mods, Adobe Premier, Sound Booth, ReBirth (for background loops), and FRAPS.

And that my fellow aviators is what happens when you don't use the entire length of the runway on short field takeoffs!

Nice save, and nice vid! 8)

Hey Fat Boy- no not fortunate enough to own a software company. Just have been doing graphic work for 11+ years and accumulated stuff over time.

I'm more into 2 dimensional work, although I sure am impressed by the gents here who are into the 3D realm! I had tried getting into those programs, and to be honest I had not the time to learn what is really a different kind of animal.

If one has been into working with programs like Quark Xpress, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop for so long, 3DS Max and Maya are just in a different league. Not better nor worse in any sense, just different. Or at least that is what I had experienced.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments!

Are you into photography :?:

Not interested in making screenies, edits, composites :?:

Oh yes- digital photography, screenies on occasion.

Interesting thing about mods though- I now feel like I have to do much less work to make them look nicer 8)
