Exaust Flames.
Nightfighting in IL2 is in my opinion alot more diffcult because of the lack of Exaust Flames. to give you an indication of how this looks like i have a video of a Lockheed Constellation taking off at night.

I dont know if it is possible to make this mod but if anyone can please tell me.
If anyone has any pictures or footage of WW2 warbird flying at night it would be great so we could get a better picture off how it is supposed to look like.

No exhaust flames visible. If you think about it exhausts would have been modified to make flames invisible at that time, by both sides, I would have thought. In your great vid, that plane flew in peace time therefore had no need to hide the exhaust flames.

Though in many Reports i have read from nightfighter pilots that spotted the enemy aircraft because of its small exaust flames.
Some Aircraft like the Mosquito FB MK VI have hidden exausts but it was still not possible to hide the flame 100 %

BTW that video you posted was recorded at daytime and Edited later on to give it a "Night" Effect.

This has been done to death so many times... Wev'e covered it here and on other forums..
There are countless real life reports of pilots being vectored in at night by ground based radar, then, later on in the war, airborne radar systems, culminating in the pilot getting the 'final' fix by getting close enough in the vicinity to actualy see the exhausts to home in for the kill..
It's like some of you don't want a mod made that is totaly historical and correct, yet people will clutch at straws to prove otherwise..
Shrouds were made over exhausts early on in the war for aircraft operating at night to shield the exhaust outlets because it was 'blinding' the pilot and his ability to fly the aircraft was being impared, but it wasn't possible at that stage to completely eliminate the signature.. God you lot, this mod is really needed, lets bump it again for christs sake!..
