Please, someone mod a new DGEN!!!
#1

Well, I have made some DGEN campaigns in the past (New Guinea 43-44, Winter War and Asia for the Asians) and some have no correct maps or planes (using substitute maps and planes). Now, we have a lot of new planes and maps, but they are not supported by DGEN. I don't like DCG very much, I like DGEN (I like my campaigns being as historical as possible).

Please, someone, give us a new DGEN that support the new maps and planes. If so, DGEN campaign creators could make new campaigns in the Slot, Malta, Britain......, with the new planes as well.

Yup and people are working at updating it with currently released maps. It's a lot of hard work and that's why it's taking a while to do. Will definitely be worth the wait!!

not exactly .... using it since day one ( separate install) but lately i'm rather frustrated with DCG and its grand campaign ( GB/US ... west front) cos it needs alteration of literally every file . For example if you look into endcampaign.dcg file you'll notice that normandy42 campaign ends in 1944 and half of campaigns doesn't have proper sequence defined in grandcampaign.dcg ( next campaign in sequence) file so you can't move to next campaign. That and fact that whole progress depends on ground units on which you don't have much influence if playing fighter made me to turn back to Dgen.

So i would very much appreciate if someone modify Dgen ....

It is actually a problem for new maps. I would also love to use BADA's map for operation Crusader...

However, let us use the potential we have first: with the existing DGen.exe, I found out that we can already add new slot planes to existing campaigns, it works without modding DGen.exe, just by editing .dat files! Thanks to gprr from the 1C Forum to have opened my eyes on this.

Therefore, I am cooking something for you, with Tempest 11lbs, 13lbs, etc. Stay tuned.

Also, what about Norway and Kiev maps? They are supported by latest DGen.exe, but still no campaign is available for these maps. There is some work to do...

With both DCG and DGen, dynamic campaign builders have still plenty of room to please the community for the future.

Great new that you are onto this. Take notes if you can. If you can spread the knowledge a bit, a lot more expansions will be possible.

I'm particularly keen to find ways of editing the takeoff/landing co-ords for the maps. I'd like to substitute the default normandy for Rone's perfect Nromandie 43/44 ones instead. It's possible, but the airfield locations is the only hurdle. :?

I see what you mean... and that is tough, because AFAIK these are hard-coded in DGen.exe for each map... So you can change default textures in default maps used in DGen (no pb、see vpmedia's mod), you may even use Compans' textures for the default Normandy maps. But if you start to change height and airfields' locations... Then we need to edit DGen.exe. This is rather feasible without so much knowledge for the aircraft (I did it for the flyable MS406 and Hawks), but it seems to me far more difficult for the maps, and would probably require the help of an expert programmer. Hence the plea from Ojcar, which I fully support. In the meantime, let us work on the aircraft and on the textures.
