Deactivating all new flyable aircraft
#1

Hi.

I would like to deactivate all new flyable aircrafts of the unified AAA installer that doesn't have their own cockpit created for them. I searched on the MODS folder to deactivate them putting the "-" on the beginning of the mod folders name, but those subfolders doesn't are 1on1 with the new aircrafts list that doesn't have their own cockpit. How can do it, please? I only like to fly aircrafts with its own cockpits and when I choose the plane to fly I don't know always if a plane is of Oleg or is a new one without cockpit.

Hope it can be done.

Thanks in advance

I don't want them to be on the aircraft list, that's it. I came back recently again to IL-2 since 2 years and I don't know when I am on the IL-2 with mods which are the "true" Oleg original aircraft and which are the ones with copied cockpits. I was asking because maybe writting the "-" on the beginning of some folder names or editing some file it can be fixed for me. If it's true the deactivating cannot be done, as a suggestion I think it would be great that the new aircrafts without cockpits created for them are marked somehow, for example with an asterisk before its name on the aircraft list.

Thanks in advance

Well, why don't you fly it, see if it has a new cockpit or not, and then either use it again or don't.

Or check the list on the first post of the UI topic which clearly lists the AI flyables and mark them in your game.

by navigating to the following;

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\i18n\plane_ru.properties

and then edit the name of the aircraft. I would suggest something short and basic such as AI (indiciating it was only intended for AI and thus has a borrowed pit) and NP (for new plane or new pit)

Thank you very much. This edit will not give me online compatibility problems or something, isn't it?

None, only you'll see the name of their aircraft with your edit. nothing negative. I would recommend this process to everyone; Download all aircraft available here; if you don't want to fly it simply don't or label it with something at the end or start of the name.

This way it means that if you're on a server with these aircraft, you can see and counter those aircraft.

He could also make a backup of his air.ini file and just delete the ones he doesn't want from the list. That would do it. (MAKE A BACKUP FIRST)

Wouldnt that make them COMPLETELY unusable ingame?

And as we release cockpits for these aircraft as update patches - wont he be screwed

The only one thing I would like to do is mark them to be able to identify which are the aircrafts of the mod and which are of the vanilla game. So i will do what RAF_Magpie said, I hope it won't cause problems on MOD servers with CRT=2 for example (I don't know any MOD friendly server with CRT=2, though, I can join those servers without the mods enabled without a problem, so I think they haven't set the CRT var to 2)

I've read on http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...php?t=4457 that on air.ini the list have to be alphabetically ordered. Is it needed that the file "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\i18n\plane_ru.properties" RAF_Magpie suggested me to edit is alphabetically ordered too? Because I plan to edit all mod aircraft names with an asterik on the beginning "*FW190" so if that is the case I would need to reorder the names[/url]

Oops! I guess it would ... Should have thought before I spoke. (inserts foot in mouth)

Sorry, I was having a moment. We're good now.
