How to Restore 4.09b Maps & Such
#1

Hey,

I recently downloaded sound mod .93, and some of my maps won't load, namely Slovakia, and if Slovakia isn't working, Bessarabia isn't, and God knows what else.

How do I remedy this situation? Which files do I need to put back in, and where, and where and what should I add a few lines of code into to have IL-2 recognize them? Is that a tongue-twister? :?

Thanks.

Has the version number on your load screen reverted to 4.08?

If so, reinstall the 4.09b1m patch from here.

I had the same problem, and couldn't solve it.

Then i installed the Unified Installer (you will have to disable/delete all mods before you do so) and everything worked beautifully. Not only the 4.09 content but also i got a few additional maps and planes.

Thanks for the suggestion...

... I'd like to avoid a total overhaul of the game, though.

To be more descriptive whenever I load a 4.09 map, it says: "section [MAP2D] not found in 'maps/Slovakia/load.ini" It's the same for Basserabia.

I ask again because, before the Unified Installer some people, me included, had the 4.09b1m patch installed before we installed the soundmod and when we did install the soundmod, it reverted our install to 4.08.

Any 4.09 maps would not work until the 4.09b1m patch is reinstalled.

Yeah that's the exact problem i used to have.

The UI solved it - nothing else i tried worked.

I had the same problem, it says 4.09b1m and the enhanced features from 4.09 (like the increased viewing distance) all work but the added content (maps) does not.

i guess the problem is with some of the .ini or .properties files, but i just couldn't get it sorted out.

Now with the UI it all works properly.
