Great mod idea!

Well we have to go with tha creator of the carrier take off MOD, i think is was fireball, if he could repositionate the aircraft on the deck and give the action to roll and unfold wings and then take off, this is totally possible as using carrier take off mod, the normal airfield take off procesure are not affected you have planes with the new take off pattern in the carrier and default pattern in ground airfields, that makes me think that changing one doesn't affect the other one.

A while ago I tried take offs in line abreast by using a flat field well away from any airfield so the planes wouldn't snap to the take off point. It worked. The problem was that the terrain was too rough and some of the planes bounced around too much and ended up crashed before airborne. The planes on either side that were behind them would then either not start their take off roll or would come to a stop if they had.

The funniest scenario I worked on was something like 24 FW-190s on one side of a meadow, and 24 Mustangs on the other side. I put myself in the sky flying around the scene to see what happened. The planes took off - those that didn't crash on take off - and made it into the air ok.

Now, of course, landings could only be made back at a regular airfield/base.

Another thing I've done, as I'm sure most others have as well, is to set planes to take off from the icons set side-by-side on the base at Spisska Nova Ves on the Slovakia map. If they put the take off icons that close togther I can't see a reason they can't simply add more.

Great days all.

Okay I had communication with Fireball and he says he beleives it is do-able! He is currently very busy with some other projects so he asked me to remind him in a couple of weeks and he will look into it. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
