Jonesoft Mod Enabler - Program Update - Now AAA Compatible

A number of people use the Jonesoft Mod Enabler to load and unload mods.

The latest update, Sept 08, has added an option to change the name of the MODS folder, so you have an option to change it to XODS to avoid conflict with the AAA Mods folder structure.

I use this Mod Manager to load and unload the modded bldconf.ini and conf.ini files which you need to swap in and out a lot if you work on map mods.
But I also load all the other mods through it as well, which makes it easy to switch back to the last installation if you have a problem.

Here's what it looks like. To create an "available mod" you just make a folder in XODS with that name, and instal or extract your downloaded mods into that folder as if it were the root folder of the game. You may still have to manually edit all.ini files etc, as per the installation notes for each mod.

I am still playing about with alternative DLL files.

By the way, think it is uncompatible with the AAA UI... Am I right?

The latest version 2.2.0 removes the incompatibility issue.

It used to be necessary to mod JSME to make it work with AAA mods because it needed a folder named MODS of its own to use. Those that have been using it up till now have modded the prog to make the default folder name XODS.

Now you get an option when you install it to give the working folder any name so the problem has gone. I'm using XODS for the JSME working folder and it works fine. Its great for managing new beta mods. Set them up in a unique folder to begin with then if you want to merge together folders which you know are ok you can do that later very easily.

But AAA UI switcher is fine too, just disabling mods by adding a "-" front of the folder name...

Was using GME before installing the AAA UI, the problem with GME is that it increase the loading time a lot and switching may take time too.

JSME is an option to using the AAA UI switcher, for those that might want more control over installations.
I have not found any noticeable increase in the loading time.

Its very useful simply for switching the bldconf.ini and conf.ini files in and out which you need to do for map modding. Since these are not in the MODS folder the "-" in front to disable cannot be used. Its worth having for this alone in my opinion. Switching takes no more time than using the official switcher.

But if you have any doubts don't use it.

I have installed it, and for now work fine.

Time of switching depends of the mod you enable size, because GME do a copy-paste with these files.

Before I installed the AAA UI, I have put bldconf.ini and a conf.ini on the GME mod root, but when I was removing them, still stay on the mod version.
