Is it possible to add some kind of algorithm or a code to the AI gunners - to stop them from firing at friendly bombers in the formaiton?
Nothing fancy, or something that would change the way they behave or anything like that - just a simple command that would prevent them from firing whenever there is a a friendly bomber in their gunsight.
Example: AI gunner is firing at the attacker (or in the empty sky, like they usually do too), and by following his target his gunsight passes over a friendly bomber - damaging it or even PK-ing the pilot. With the mod - AI gunner would stop firing for just that very second (or more) during which his gun is pointing at the friendly bomber.
With my (limited) understanding of programming, there would need to be some kind of a 'check code' which would verify if the gunner is pointing at the friendly bomber + another code which would stop the gunner from firing if it didn't pass the 'check code'.
Just for the record, I'm and online pilot - exclusively, and a long term bomber pilot as well. I think I speak for all bomber pilots who ever attempted to fly in a formation at least once and were TK-ed by a gunner from a nearby bomber. This happens much more than some of you might think and is the worst imersion killer for us bomber pilots.
Thoughts please?
(PS: If this is against forum rules by any chance - please delete the thread.)
