Canon, how are you doing your trees?

Are all of them the auto tress or are some of them objects? I cannot for the life of me find decent trees or reskins of the ones we have.

Cannon mate, I can't find any sneak pics of RAF Warmwell... would you indulge us with a preview or two...?

Hi Canon ;-)

Did you received my MP? In case I post it here:

" I'm french (sorry for my bad english language!) and I work actually to adapt your nice job (CAN_Channel) on SEOW (community developpement)
You can see my work here:
SEOW Access

As you know it needs to capture all roads, railways, bridges, airbases, industrial sectors....
I'm afraid if your new final map is too much different from the beta one
Do you accept answer some questions on the future new version?:

- Are the Roads and railways positions differents in the new map?
- Airbases'coordonates: same question?
- I have difficulties to capture good quality screenshots of general map without texts. Perhaps is it possible to obtain from you a empty map?

Thanks for your help and bravo for your exceptionnel map.

Spartan - some of the trees are autogen, but the ones you see around the actual airfields are object trees but I have Forest=3 so they look better.

Magpie - stay tuned. RAF Rochford and Stapleford Tawney first, then some pics of your beloved Warmwell Smile

PA-Dore - I replied to your message via email (as you requested). Just in case you didn't get it though, I'll answer again here Smile The final version is totally incompatible with the beta. Nothing is the same. Raods/rail/bridges etc are all in different places, airfields look different and are in different places. The final version covers a larger area and a larger scale, so nothing has the same coordinates.

So sorry to tell you this after all your work (although I did release such a warning when I announced the final version). Not sure what to reccommend - either stick with what you've done and have an SEOW map for the beta only, or pause and apply it to the final release when it's out.

I have the book Battle of Britain- Then and Now { some class it as the bible of all things BoB } if you want any photos or information for certain airfields drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do Smile

Thanks 602RAF_Puff - I'm always on the lookout for photographs of hangars/dispersals etc for BoB airfields. I'm pretty much ok for aerial views of the airfields, although if you've got any decent ones I'd like to see them. Could you email anything interesting to canonuk@hotmail.co.uk? Thanks!

Thought I'd just post this little comparison image, to show the level of accuracy and authenticity in my maps. The aerial is from 1947, but I have other plans that let me know which areas where added and when etc, so I can make it 1940-appropriate.

As a little aside, have any of you seen the progress 352nd are doing with their map? For some reason they've included Arras-Roclincourt airfield (lifted directly from Google Earth) - they've done it very nicely. The only problem is that Arras Roclincourt wasn't built until 1962....

Anyhoo, I'll post some pics of Rochford (and Warmwell, Magpie) in due course Smile
