Hi all:

Up to now I've been working with USN and USMC aircraft in the Pacific and the RAF in Europe. I'm now just starting to work on Neil Lowe's terrific Darwin map and the RAAF

Anyway, I was putting together a mission involving the RAAF and started putting stationary planes on the ground. I went to Properties to change the insignias and found, lo and behold, there's no option for the RAAF - RNZAF yes, no RAAF. The roundels are considerably different and hence, for me, unusable. The RAF roundels are also unsuitable.

My question is this:

Where and/or how, can I get to the country decals to alter one. Since I don't use the French or Polish ones I could alter one of them. This actually could be used for all sorts of things. One such other use would be for the continuing change the various services in the US forces had for the star/star-and-bars and the overlap of several insignias on one base at any given time.

A possible mod might be to give us more options for countries in the stationary A/C department.

Can anyone help out here?

Hi!

I don't know the way to make ad hoc mod....but I can suggest a shortcut:

1- Download and install the SKINMOD;
2- Set in conf.ini clear cache at 0
2- Search and install a skin with RAAF roundels but without codes (ex of name RAAF round);
3- Go into QMB and set the aircraft kind (ex Beaufighter mk 21) you need and the skin find above (ex of name RAAF round);
4- Start mission and exit
5- Go in IL2 folder named CACHE and search the folder named Beaufighter mk 21
6- Copy that folder into the IL2/mods/skinmod/3do/plane folder overwriting if required
7- Go into FMB and load the static plane needed (ex Beaufighter mk 21) and set it to none in property
8- It should have RAAF roundels

use the RN. On the mat manager, the RN and RAAF share roundels i think.
