Gforce effect settings question
#1

Im curious what settings you guys are using for the Gforce effect in the new 6dof v2 mod. Id like it to be as realistic without being over the top. But the parameters 1 through 10 are pretty meaningless, and I cant find any discussion of this feature in the download thread.

Does anyone use it or do you leave it turned off? Seems like a great idea but you either experience gforce or not right?

Its 6 Dof v2.0 its in the v1.1 unified installer or on the downloads section. In game press and hold the * key on the numpad section of your keyboard and a window pops up with G force effect, turbulance effect, zoom on/off and maybe something else. I didnt know about it either till last night. Anyway the settings go from 1-9 and I want to know what others are using and what they think is most accurate to what pilot would experience without being cartoonish. At 1(default) its so minor that I didnt notice the effect.

I believe is time to make a new 6DOF with more G and turbulence effect standart, i have real experience fly inside litle planes and can say tubulence is bad when you fly inside clouds, the G is a bit bad, in the negative G is terrible believe is very hard to dont shake head, but in name of realism, we need a new standart set with more set effects and without personal setting.

In answer to your query...

I personally fly with both G-Force and Turbulence set at 3 in the 6DOF menu. This gives the pleasingly realistic result of making aiming pretty difficult under high G-Loads or maneuvers but not so bad that I feel like my pilots head is on a rubber band neck.

I agree with the above poster. The default setting should be higher, 2.5 or 3. It would be nice to have one less thing on my pre-flight checklist, not having to enter the 6DOF menu and set them every time I start the game. Not that I mind having to set them every time though. This mod is one of the must have items for Track IR users, a brilliant piece of work. :O)

Paulo, G effect and turbulence/ride quality vary from aeroplane to aeroplane as a function of wing loading and C of G and TAS etc. A small light aircraft will generally feel a lot rougher than your average WWII fighter or bomber. Not a good idea imo to play around with this in 6DOF, the Sim does quite well in the turbulence area anyway.

Regarding the 6DOF menu I can bring it up okay but dont have much luck adjusting anything is their some trick to get the keyselections to actually work ?
