Modded speedbar - IAS and TAS
#1

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to modify the speedbar speedbar in IL2, showing both TAS and IAS, and if anyone has done this already.

I don't know if this is the proper forumsection to post this, so if not, mods please feel free to move it to a proper section.

Not quite, it should be the speedbar only, I never fly without full cockpits, but for a quick comparison the TAS and IAS on the speedbar would seem handy to me.

Just a littlebit of extra info, for an armchairpilot without TrackIR systems, to keep track of my energystate when i'm looking around the skies instead of my instruments at altitudes above 5KM.

If you have the UI 1.1 you already have the mod for TAS on the speedbar.
Just add the following lines to your conf.ini file:

[Mods]
SpeedbarTAS=1
SpeedbarUnits=2
SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
SpeedbarAltMeters=1
SpeedbarAltFeet=1
HUDGauges=3

1st: sorry for a little late reply Smile

2nd: I do have UI 1.1 and I tried the above, and experimented with all settings for a while,but all it did, was changing my KM/H display to KIAS.
So yes, it is almost what I was looking for, now only if it would ADD the KIAS to the display instead of replacing it. Smile

It should look like:
SPD 350km/h
SPD *** KIAS
ALT 1690 m (i want to keep it in Meters)
HDG 284 (also unchanged)

Is that possible with the above addition to my conf.ini?

Yes. Make sure you have a key set up for 'Toggle Speedbar'.
Hit that key and it will change the readings in the speedbar.
