Some Brits flat out refused to fly the plane, one pilot saying it was more dangerous to RAF pilots than the Luftwaffe. Such extreme examples of exaggeration followed the P-39 throughout its service life.

I think you're thinking i wrote that story when i did not, I merely put it in this thread because it seemed like an interesting read describing the steps that led up to the fall of the P-39. Now if you would be so kind as to keep this on the real topic the XP-39 I would greatly appreciate it.
