North Korea Mig-15 campaign
#1

Hi, first of all, let me calm down your enthusiasm. :insanity: It is not for a real Mig-15 with its own slot, but for Mig-15 that replaces Mig-9, (THX to Ranwers anyway!) - FRANKENPLANE.

I could not wait to shoot down the latest F-86s (big thx to all the skinning boys for the beautiful skins) as well as some Sea Furies, so I decided to make a North Korean campaign (sanka's Forgotten countries mod is required).

But still, there are some 'buts' - Ranwers built Mig-15 for Russians - Red, but I needed it for North Korea - blue. So there is a 'minor' bug - upper wings roundels won't show up (this happens for some Forgotten Countries planes). And of course, as there is no available Korean map yet (I am looking forward to it very much!), so I decided to put it on Khalkhyn Gol map - still better this campaign then nothing, right?

If everything is OK, I will release it till Friday. (I have already finished and I am testing it right now. It has 15 missions.)

And lastly, have you watched the M*A*S*H tv series?? Two missions are associated to the episode with "5 o'clock Charlie" :hahahaha: :toohappy:

If you don't know what I am talking about, you should find some info!

No! You will be flying for North Korea, you know. The campaign's name is "Kim's Fagots" - not Kim Jong Il's, but Kim Ir Sen's. (The father of the one previously mentioned.) Smile

In fact, you will be a good guy who will have to protect "5 o'clock Charlie" from Major Frank Burns

this is great!! thanks a lot.
I just want to check:
The xp-86 sabre readme says it goes to sturmovik 1946 folder. Does this campaign work in il2 forgotten battles?. i have a copy of 1946 on the way, so if the campaign is for that, i can wait a few days.
And must the mod folder just be there in the main game directory as in a newly created folder?

I don't know as I have 1946, but you can try... It could work, but you have to have all the MODS required...

Ok, My copy of 1946 arrived yesterday. i downloaded and applied patch 4.08 and cranked my graphics way up there, also in the conf.ini file.

Now,I already got the mods:
Forgotten countries(the no UI one, hope that's good enough)
Sabre
and the campaign
I tried it last night, didn't work(I couldn't find out where the kp is)
What's with the air.ini in MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\ ? i don't have that std folder, what's it for?
Kimovy_migyCZ...where should those files go?
And the kim fagot's folder, should that just go into the kp folder or should it replace all that content?

I think i might be missing something here, or i don't understand clearly. please help, i'm super excited
to get this one working.

You need to install unified installer first to get it working. It is essential + 4.091b patch. And do not download any "CZ" files unless you understand Czech.

It's a large download after 4.08. it costs me money, cause we don't pay flat rates for internet in south africa. The Forgotten countries I downlaoded is the no UI download. i'll try that with 4.09 first then maybe I'll unzip the FC no ui, re-zip into one zipfile and try to install with installer. Can't download another FC version for installer. I'll tell you how it went. Thanks for your help.
