North American B/RB-45C Tornado
#1

Hi everybody! I'm quite new to this forum, and i'm quite new to the 3D modelling too.

I would like to announce my first project to the IL-2 the North American B-45C Tornado bomber and the recon version the RB-45. I can do the 2D, and the 3D part alone (i think), but i'll need serious help to import it in the game.

I'll need some good blueprints, I already have the airwar.ru ones, but if anybody have better ones it would seriously help my work, especially the details. I'll wait two of three days and if nothing comes up i'll do it from the airwar.ru template. Beside templates, any information about this plane are welcom and greatly apprichiated!

Some projects from my past, as a reference work:

-My study project in 3d max finished today, the D0 3D modell of the Yak-25 (4250 triangles, planned to be released after the B-45, !!! lot of thanks to the great tutorials in this forum !!!)

-Su-25 template for Lock-On a co-project with Star80 :

Also i skined a lot for both Il-2 and Lock-on, done other things in Operation Flashpoint mostly codeing so i'm up to learn everything.

If somebody up to help my work, pleaser contact me in PM.

New to 3D modelling? Don't believe a word of it

Great work, always good to have more modellers around who actually know what they're doing (unlike me)!

Intresting choice

If I was modelling I'd chose something else (B-36 and B-49  ) but it's your model. so do what you like with it. Don't take this the wrong way. I'm fully supportive of all Korean war projects

The B-45 will be awesome!! Especially in light of the fact that Flackiten's next project is going to be a Russian Bear. They both were from the same era, and had similar performance and roles.

GOOD ON YA!!

...the Yak-25 is interesting, too - but only with this guided rockets - it would be fine a Yak-25 with canon`s for Il2 `46...

I don't care what they say about the project, it's amazing. It will be great for Cold War scenarios, especially if you were to make the Backbreaker model. The Backbreaker would be great for fighting in Europe between the Americans and the Soviets and the RB-45C would be great for the Korean War.

I think I meant to say Beagle. It starts with a B anyway.

All NATO reporting names for Soviet bombers began with B, and all fighters with F Tongue

Looking good, the smoothing is a bit iffy in places but I expect that'll be corrected later Smile

I usually leave the smothing to the end, when the parts are finished...

Looking good mate, although she's a lot younger than most of what we see, it would be good for some decent cold war scenarios Smile

Brano... Brano, Brano, Brano... I have deleted your comments, as you said we could, but I will give you a word of advice;

Like me, others are getting sick of the "I WANT IT" "THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH" "PSSST > CAN YOU SENDS IT MEES!!?!1" crap that these project threads generate. And actually do not enjoy giving updates, so prefer not to, let alone even opening threads. The B-26 is progressing, as is the A-26; if their authors do not give you every single little update, there is less bitching, nagging, and whining they have to put up with; thus why there is no Lancaster thread! These attitudes are enough to make people give up and just stop their work - I have seen this happen a few times, and have been even considering it myself. Just be happy with the knowledge these are being done, and will be done.

I found out more about the Backbreakers. They were 40 B-45A's that became operational on June 12, 1952 in England. Above is a very detailed photo of them lined up in June of '52 and below are two very informative links. I recently read that B-45's, or a B-45, was used in Korea to make night intruder attacks on North Korean AAA flak guns. Just thought this info might be interesting and maybe, I hope, lead to an offshoot of nuclear capable Tornadoes. Oh yeah, the model looks great...
