[MOD] BF-110G-4 Update Pack
#46

for those who aren't happy with the exhaust coloring - its a relatively quick and easy thing to edit the 'exhaust.tga' file with a paint program. I use Photoshop - adjusted the levels to a slightly more blue hue, and now its just as i like it. Total time in Photoshop - just under 10 seconds.

The colour of the flame dampeners is easy enough to fix.
The thing that draws my eye to them the most though is how much longer they are than the ones in real life. Almost like hot rod exhausts.

I edited the exhaust.tga with GIMP and now the plane won't show up and it says that exhaust.mat can't be read. :???:

Make sure you did not put any compression on the .tga, and that you did not accidentally rename it.

Ah yes, the compression was the issue. Works great now in a mild shade of black. Many thanks. Big Grin

Thank you for your great work!

Can someone help me please?
I installed the first version and then this update.
But for some reason, in both versions I don't see the correct skins summer and winter in the game.
The default skin is the skin of a MG.
Yes, the folder summer and winter are there and the files inside too.
But if I open the skin1o.tga in the summer folder I see a skin of a MG.

Thanks.

Yes, it's the solution, but I don't have the correct skin.

Can someone post their modified exhaust dampeners. Anyone who has changed the color from the brown to a darker one would be great. I don't have a photo shop utility and would just to swap the original out for one that has already been done. Thanks again and what a super mod.

Yeah same here, I love this plane but the "tree trunk" mufflers bug me a lot! (OCD it's pain in the ass Tongue)

It's just occurred to me that if Slow's exhaust flame dampers were turned upside down they might fit the Ju 87G without too much modification. Late war Ju 87Gs were used by Luftwaffe NSG units in Italy and Russia for night time level bombing of airfields and road traffic. The flame dampers fitted to Ju 87s channelled the exhaust gasses beneath the wings. Here's a picture of such a bird :
