These are the settings in the game's config.ini file, which set the complexity of the water rendering in the game.
Options are Water=0, 1,2,3 or 4.

In the root directory of the game. Open with notepad.

The first version looked great. The second version is good also, except with the new sun reflections enabled for some reason I get a flickering on the ocean's surface when flying in the Pacific. Don't notice a problem over land or on rivers. Useing an ATI X1650pro with XP.

OK, let's go step by step: First, left click on "My Computer". Next, click on the icon for your "C" drive. Open up the folder "Program Files". Look for the folder "Ubisoft" and open it up. There should be a folder "IL2 Sturmovic 1946" in there. Open that folder, which is the root game folder, and look for the "conf. ini. file, and open it with notepad. Easy as pie!

Unfortunately I had to return to version 1. For some reason I couldn't get the newer version to look correct. When flying in the Pacific, I would get a "banding"effect of the water with bad flickering of reflections. It also seemed like the water wasn't being drawn out to the horizon. It would look noticably texturless after a certain point. I played with all the settings to no avail.

The mod makes the water look fairly good at Water=0 and I love that, BUT the sun reflection sometimes flickers a little, mostly when looking straight down from inside the cockpit. Not much and not so annoying, but it does.

nVidia 9800GT + TripleHead2Go with 3x 4:3 monitors, usually at 1024x768 each, sometimes at 800x600 (looks kinda decent using nHancer with 'combined mode' 8xS antialiasing), no differneces between the 2 resolutions, and no difference using the native 1280x1024: the sun reflection flickers exactly as much at all resolutions.

One of my favourite mods, especially combined with the reflections bonus mod. Thank you so much for making this. Now I can have the FPS of water 0 with the look of water 2+ when I attack an airbase! Nice work!
