1.2 enforces Status Quo. 4.09 modded is needed.

Dear AAA Team. While I fully appreciate your recently compilation of the best and latest Mods for IL2.

But I think it is necessary that AAA as the afaik most commonly used Mod, keeps up with the official development and support for il2 and makes ther MOD package compatible wit the 4.09 final version .

I am running 4.09 final modded and also have used it on 4.09 Hyperlobby servers. While it works fine in offline mode I myself encoumtered some bugs with certain versions of the Spit/Seafire and also read about some bugs witnh canopy mods.

What are your plans for 4.09 final?

the UI 1.3 will include the 4.09m.

I agree with this topic: beside I also have some doubts about the fact I'll have to switch back to the standard UI 1.1 (.1???) installation to proceed to the UI1.2; not only I'm using the 409m Modded, but I've also installed a few other Mods I found interesting (mainly some betterment of the graphics like PlaneShine or the Bumpification, but also a few of the Beta Planes). I would like to see an intelligent installer that may check and update at least the UI previous MOD, and eventually check with the Mods the user added...
I know in the end I'll install the 1.2 in another copy I have, but this is also some kind of a Babel's tower of MODs...

Yes that is good news. Thanks for clarification.

Regarding the installer, I think the way the ultrapack people handel mods is the way to go. JSGME is free for everybody. Why not use it to keep different MOD packs portable.

What I think about is a general Mod package structure (which if you take a close look is already there anyways) easily to use for those people who do not have the time to customise or adapt to different server specifications manually.

You could still put that AAA Switxcher Utility on top of that for people who even do not have the time to get aquaited with JSGME.

If I may... this is benign, please don't take as a flame.

I'm just a casual user, running 1.1.1 on 4.09m (thanks to now rather troubled people). It would be awkward for me to go back to 4.08 to run 1.2, and probably for some/many, because 4.09 looks like rather mature patch...

so...

Why not go like with 4.08/4.09bm switcher, but now make it 4.08-1.2/4.09-1.3beta (in effect, 4.09/1.2 testmode) ?
I don't know how co-operation would work, or problems involved, or what authorizations or credits would who would have to give to whom, but it really does look like the guys here and guys -there- could use some help, stop-gap or interim solution.

If it does not sound too utopistic Tongue

As much as I love the work of so many intelligent people here, and the free support they all give for the whole community, I'm also of the idea to wait, at list 'till I can properly grasp how this installations will modify my previous one, not just the UI 1.1.1 but the Mods I've installed already, as well as the 409m upgrade.... I know maybe is asking too much, but is there any exhaustive Guide to MODs for Dummys (me :-? ), I mean what files modify what, where they are, what is their use? Maybe it would comes out as the Britannica...
