I'm pretty new to HSFX. I've had it installed for a week, so I've still got lots to discover.
In general I'm pretty pleased with the new setup. Some files have moved around a bit but it doesn't take long to discover where everything is.
One thing I would like to see in map and object lists is a clear indicator of whether things are Franken objects. Perhaps an (F) after the object or map name.
HSFX includes a lot of frankenplanes, frankenships and frankenmaps.
I got quite excited to see a Gothic Line map in the lists, only to discover that it was really Slovakia with the names changed.
Many of the Franken objects are very good and serve well when we have nothing else, but the aim should be to replace these with scratch built models. Flagging them up in the lists as (F) might help to encourage this. I expect there are a few users who do not know which are which, or are just not sure.
Anyway, back to testing the Fairey Fulmar.

Hopefully better versions will become available over time and we always replace/update if we are aware of better alternatives.
Sometimes an older 'Franken' object or a reskinned 'clone' has filled a void that was really important for some SEOW campaign or other over the last couple of years, which is the primary focus of HSFX.
(in SEOW as in DCG, the data and statistics for an object are more important than the way the object looks often as there is an active ground/naval war ongoing.)
Did you do the new Tribal Class Ship Model ? (very cool !). PM me when you have ironed everything out if I got the correct person, I would love to include it in next update.
Any plans to work on more ships ?. Its easy for me to add the java required if you have, the 3d objects themselves are the hard part.
A personal bugbear of mine is the crap Crusader tank (that I made....the shame ! )...it moves and fights OK but it makes me cringe whenever I put it into FMB.
There is also a total lack of German (and UK) Armoured Cars in Il2 come to think of it.
The HMS Eskimo - Tribal Class is pretty much complete for the moment apart from the damage meshes. But you hardly notice these unless you are looking closely. There is a shadow mesh bug which causes flickering shadows on my system. Not sure why. Again it doesn't seem to detract much from the overall effect. Feel free to add it in any time you think is appropriate. I guess you've already seen this post viewtopic.php?p=272329#272329
Other ship models on the stocks include HMS Scylla, Light Cruiser, -- probably the next I will complete, though progress is slow. Also have hulls part modelled for HMS Warspite BB and HMS Ark Royal CV. I am lacking good plans for Ark Royal.
My main focus has been on the MTO.
I'm also quite keen on doing a model of HMS Eagle, CV -- not started yet but I have a good set of plans.
I would need some help with compiling the two class files when the time comes but can take care of the ini and properties files.

I recently updated my IL2 app to HSFX 4.1 per the note of new work in the DGEN campaign area. I did not see specifics on what was changed other than notes crediting the authors who updated content. I was wondering if anyone has specifics on this area of the HSFX implementation and what new to look for in the DGEN campaigns? Also, are the updates to the stock DGENs or are new campaigns available somewhere (mission4today?) for download specific to HSFX?
Also wanted to comment that all pilot faces appear to be Japanese regardless of the plane flown?
