The virtual world of il2 is not the same as the real world , some guys don t want to understand that and it s impossible to talk ....
The curves can t say if a fm is good or not , the only way is to take the real spec and to fly the plane in the simulation to see if it s good and to let the stick to a real pilot ....
Maybe you ll find a perfect curve somewhere , but not sure a real pilot will say that the FM is realistic .... :wink:

WRT IL2: A lot of people who use IL2Compare will disagree with you
WRT RL: All the real world test data I used to compare your F86 to was derived from flight tests by real pilots.

Isn't that the way you and yours (all 15 or so of you) did with your 'team testing'

And yet the ROC bug was not found using your 'team test' method..

It wasn't until I using the INFOMOD that presents data based on real world test methods..

Along with my 'formal' real world test methods (read NASA methods) that the ROC bug/error was found/confirmed.

After which you announced you would be 'changing' the FM.

Just to highlight how poor your test methods are..

But anyone that knows anything about flight performance testing knows that says something about the pilot skill/luck and nothing about how accurate the plane performance is..

In that some folks here not only enjoy Quake flight sims..

But some need the edge/advantage they get from a F-86 with an X-Wing FM to get a kill!

Why so personal? What's the point? I was referring at your verbose... your posts... your rows of text... sure you wrote them but you are more than your posts... right?

I'm looking at all this structured quoting and answering of yours and that's why I say is a lost effort... it may be academic in a way but, here... is just insulting... it's like trying to break peoples every sentence into bits and analyze them. Most certainly you reach to conclusions about the intention of the original words that the authors didn't think as language is not really applied with mathematical rigor... especially foreign language . Thus you find purposes and intentions where they weren't and then when you point them out people are offended (especially if they are french j/k).

You should think if your effort is optimized. Maybe you get things going in the way you want... but, the power you consume is immense... then you will be upset by that fact and you will still not be happy.


With all this effort and kind of rigor you are showing, I am sure you could had build a separate FM for the plane and talk with Freddy as a peer and not just as a critic. With a bit of more tact... everybody would had won more... including you.


Anyways... you do how you want... but if you answer to my post... make "a less" effort and try to answer to my conclusion of the post... with just one phrase or something

look, it's very simple:

1) if u don't think the ROC is correct, keep it private with him, there's no need to show off on the forum.
2) it's a free addon, nobody is forcing you to use it if you don't like it. Actually you can do a patched version yourself and use it/share it. You don't know how to? Get hold of a tutorial and learn how, instead of wasting time bitching here.
3) even if you get things right (or what you think it's right), the sim will never be accurate: there are SO many factors that aren't taken into account (pilot tiredness under jet performance for instance), so just take it for what it is, a really good sim, but that will never be the ultimate realism.
4) I'm not saying that your point are right or wrong, but christ, you gotta work on your human relationships!

I am getting a crash at 20% loading at the splash screen, it freezes there for a momment, then shoots up to 60% then crash, i tried my best to install everything, even while translating French, and i am fairly certain i did everything right, but i still get the crash. Is this not supported by UI 1.2?
