Hey Republic mate!

I've been thru their forums and they'll go UP 2.0

there is a lot of speculation about wich pack is intended for online or offline, and I'm not talking about capabilities but I'm talking about the simulator integrity

HSFX 4.0 was primary for SEOW

HSFX 4.1 is the continuation of AAA's UI 1.2.5 (< I like this very much) Backed by the AAA community, making mods in separate slots

UP 2.0 now integrates HSFX 4.1 plus other content, backed by ZUTI and SAS, known for making excelent mods, but also moddding stock content (which I've also downloaded)

So I would like to know HERE AND NOW

Are the STOCK PLANES and WEAPONS, FM's or DM being altered in any UP version that may or may not be inherited in this UP 2.0???

thanks

P.S. also, I've read in skiesofvalor forums that monguse said this up2.0 was the last up and was to be followed by the real only mod pack a new version of hsfx, is that true?

Well I tried to get into a HL UP server but it said I had the wrong Zuti. I have 1.01 from HSFX4.1. How do I fix this?

Waffen,

I can tell you right now, YES!
UP has altered some stock flight models, damage models and weapons models.

Specifically tested by myself are the heavy bombers. Their engine performance has been lowered drastically while FW 190's have been improved.

the spits v 109s thing has me scratching my head too. it's obviously the best server for full switch and was surprised they went UP over HSFX. i'd recently downloaded and installed HSFX on the understanding from these forums that it was the new standard. HSFX is very solid, but now i guess i'll have to go through the nightmare of downloading and installing UP to play on spits v 109s. bummer.

so should i hold off downloading UP 2 in the hope one final, truley united pack will be produced?

Jinxx mate how are you?

I'm not trying to troll or get flamed, I know stock FM and DM HAD to get altered in order to make AI planes, flyable i.e: heavyes

But I'm NOT OK in modifying stock planes like, 190, spits, lightings, 109's etc. like you said earlier

Just needed to clarify that

I think the only thing that you will need to play those servers will be the Zuti 1.1 when HSFX users get it.
That is the only difference that I know of.

N.B. i have it on good authority that UP has also altered some of the fm's from hsfx buttons file, which is one of the reasons that the two are not compatible with crt
P.s, UP also say that hsfx buttons is an arcade buttons file (which i dont believe for one minuet)

Main thing we are all waiting on for HSFX is the server files. Once those are released, we should see some servers coming on-line. 334th will be HSFX 4.X once USL is complete.
I too prefer the more realistic features offered in HSFX vs. UP. I also don't take kindly to their start of an apparent slander campaign of HSFX/AAA by saying that their buttons are "Arcadeish". From what I've seen of the UP 1.8/2.0 so far has been a lot of "tweaking" by UP to make the planes perform the way that UP thinks they should vs. the way they are supposed to perform using REAL flight data. Don't get me wrong, some of the FM changes they've made are fantastic. Such as the fixing of the Avenger and Kate dive bombers, but they have still made changes to stock FM's. Something that AAA and the original modders were/are dead set against. If you want to fix a stock FM, you make a new slot aircraft and then fix it accordingly.

I still have hopes that all the modders will get together to give all of us a single install from which we will be able to enter into ANY server and not have to maintain 2 or 3 separate installs of the game. Thanks to the latest mod packs, I now only have to have 2 installs. One for USL (UP 2.0) and the one that I use in servers and general play (HSFX).

If nothing else, at least the modding community has given new life to this sim. It has far surpassed any other WWII flight sim I've ever owned.

I agree Jolly...in conducting my own general research, the heavy bombers have been slowed down some. In some ways that can actually be good, meaning that some fighters can now keep up for escorting without having to pull the proverbial guts out of their engines to stay on station. The downside is that fighters that could previously not perform at high altitude now can run with the best of them, and at a higher alt then their rated altitudes. The fixed FM for the Avenger and the Kate was certainly welcome, but I do think that all the mods need to stay within the actual realm that the real aircraft was in regards to performance.

Again, this is not to incite an internet riot or cause a flame war, but isn't the whole purpose of the mods to both make the sim more enjoyable and keep it realistic?

Before we get out of whack here and before anyone jumps to conclusions. We need to step back a bit and look.

That said please bear in mind that SAS buttons are specifically geared towards offline guys. HSFX and UP are for the online guys.

I have yet to compare the stock human flyable planes (NOT AI) 409m FM's.

So let's keep it civil please.

So it seems that the only reason I am unable to connect to UP servers is the Zuti version?

If so, when will the zuti 1.1 for us HSFX boys be available?

You might check to see if UP has it for public download, we can't have a download link here at AAA.

zuti v1.1 comes with hsfx 4.1
