R/R/R in online coop missions ???
#1

R/R/R is a fine feature and it works fine in dogfight and when flying coop missions offline (stand alone), but when I'm hosting a coop game for my friends they can't do any R/R/R. Actually as a host I can see on my screen that somebody has started refueling or rearming, but the pilot that started the process can't see it himself - and no r/r/r actions happen for his plane. For the host everything works fine - I'll get my plane rearmed and refuelled.

I don't know if R/R/R is ment to work online at all with coop missions??? Does anybody know?

Assuming you are using Zuti's latest MDS 1.1, it is ment to work on any mission setup that can be opened in FMB. Just to be safe and especially on older missions you need to resave them in FMB so all the entry lines from the MDS are entered correctly in the .mis file.

To be honest, I've not tried it with COOP missions, but as far as I understand it, the DSMod is really for designed for dogfight missions. The RRR is tied to a Home Base, which are not recognized in COOP missions. You could ask over at UltraPack forum, which is where ZUTI hangs out, and get a definitive answer.

RRR is not tied to a homebase necessarily. It is related to an airfield and can be modified with homebase circle or/and input of coordinates (manually inserted in mis file OR load.ini of maps) to designate areas within the airfield where the RRR can take place.
I have RRR in Online dogfight AND Cooperative missions as well as Offline, quick mission builder templates, single missions and Campaigns. As I said, if you can open a mission in FMB, you can have it.

OK, I stand corrected...however...I just saw a similar question on UP forum, (only host can RRR) and ZUTI's answer was to use the dedicated server to help debug it (gives error messages).

I think Zuti is refering to the Dedicated setup because he can troubleshoot it easier.
My result come from the following setups:
Single playing, obviously Smile
Dedicated server Two clients
Dedicated COOP Server(rnzolli's DSC)One client.

It is definetely worth checking it with more clients. I just recently upgraded all my previous missions to the latest MDS 1.1 so I am ready to go.
I am at work right now but I am going to post the server at 173.49.123.131. It will be on a COOP dedicated setup. Instruction on Briefing screen. Feel free to give it a shot.

This, I think, is closest to OP's situation, since DSC host is essentially an install of the game. I think ZUTI would appreciate more data on this problem from users, since he is unable to replicate it himself. Will your server be online this evening, Eastern Standard Time? (-5:00 GMT)

I will leave the server on until tomorrow morning EST time.
It is up now but I have not posted it in Hyperlobby. Once I get home I will do that too. Look for KDN-Dedicated_Coop.

Settings and active mods will be also shown the Hyperlobby Server description window.

Actually I'm using MDS 1.01 and I've done everything according to the manual including the manually inserted coordinates in .mis file. There are also all the "Zuti lines" in the beginning of the file, so everything should be ok.
Could there be a bug in MDS 1.01? I'm not the only one who is wondering this.
If MDS 1.1 works for you as it should, I'll update to that ASAP. Should I install complete UP 2.0 or is there a stand alone version available somewhere?

Well we have a plan to conduct a wider scale test and we will be more sure about the answer then. So far it seems it is working. I think of making a mission just for that, probably over the weekend.
The MDS 1.1 is part of the optional mods that gets activated through the jsgme but I am not sure if it will work with packages other that UP2.0
An HSFX switcher is included but I read in the UP forum that Zuti is making an MDS 1.1 especially for HSFX so...

Gentlemen
I have done something wrong and messed up the setup, or so I think. Please let me find out what I did and I will come back with a report and a posting for a testing ground.
My apologies

Thank you until now, I'll be waiting...

Unfortunately, due to many complicated issues between MDS 1.1 and cooperative missions in IL2 there is an erratic behaviour on R/R/R. Furthermore due to time restraints the task of correcting it is beyond reach. For the people who have spotted this one and I have assured them of the opposite, I apologize. It seemed that it was functional but I did not look into it thoroughly enough.
Please accept my sincere apologies.

KDN,

Thanks for trying anyway. Now I know that I haven't made mistakes in my efforts and may start waiting for the next update of MDS hoping that the problem shall be solved there. Until (and if) that happens let's enjoy R/R/R in DF missions.

BW,

Jami
