Changing the maximum 1280x960 32bit depth resolution
#1

Hey! everybody!

Is there anyone out there/here within this forum has an idea on how to break the 1280x960 32bit depth resolution that IL2 has as a maximum resolution?

There is a Military flight sim called....USAF that has a forum that someone out there was able to create a MOD that added planes, things, and automobiles, that broke the maximum 1280x960 threshold of the game. And now the game can be played at 1680x1050 32bit and behond resolution.

I might try my hand at it. To try and break that resolution barrier within IL2.

whats the highest available resolution? try that first

than - if no success - from this list try the ones marked with 4:3 only: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_resolutions

Well, I play at 1920*1200. I wrote that figures because the post creator said he wanted to reach 1680*1050:

Both resolutions are 16:10 of course.

Thanks for the input. I can now enjoy higher resolutions.

Is it possible (or sensible) to run 1920*1200 (or greater) on an LCD monitor with native resolution of 1680*1050? I don't want to experiment with it in case it damages something, but if someone has experience/knowledge of the issue, advice would be most welcome.
Cheers, Hoppy.

Not sure why you would want to run that Res on a 16 x 10 wouldn't you get black bars?

Anyway, I use 1680 x 1050, but what makes it really look good is the Ecran widescreen mod.... Confusedhock:

No, you can't run greater than the native res on a LCD.
