Planes included in HSFX missing
#1

Please correct me if I am wrong but within the "HSFX 4.1 readme" there is a list of planes that are included in 4.1. Such as a few F86's and some really cool P38's however these aircraft are not showing up within my game. I did a fresh install of IL2 and updated to 4.09m before installing both hsfx 4.0 and 4.1 and the 4.1 fixer. Am I also supposed to have UI 1.2 installed before HSFX? I ask this because it says within the readme that these aircraft were taken from UI 1.2. Any help would be much appreciated Thank You.

Did you install 4.08m? Its not shown.
DO NOT INSTALL UI 1.1 0r 1.2.
Disk 4.07m-->4.08m-->4.09m-->HSFX-V4.0--->HSFX-V4.1

A total CLEAN install and all will work And you will have those planes listed.

I did install 4.08m my bad for not listing it. I'll try another fresh install I cleared my registry of the game after uninstalling it so hopefully that will help.

Still no luck I just installed the game fresh and its exactly the same as it was before still none of the planes listed in the mod are there.
I installed the game from a CD first then updated to 4.08m-4.09m-HSFX 4.0-HSFX 4.1 still nothing I can activate the mods in the JGSME mod activator program, which really doesn't change much however, I really don't see much of a difference between the fully patched game and HSFX. I do however enjoy the new career campaigns they are very well done.

Ok here we go. Sorry I forgot the last time.
When you install the HSFX both of them MAKE SURE
the installer has the RIGHT game path.
IF you look in your game folder and have two installs
thats the problem.

There is a browse button with the HSFX installer use it to find your game folder.

DONt add all of the mods in teh JGSME active 1 by one starting with the History mod and make su ethat works. SO firstyou get 4.0 add the HS from teh JGSME make sure it worsks then get 4.1 and it should work

Thanks for the suggestions hopefully these will work I keep forgetting how delicate this game can be if you don't move slowly with these mods and make sure everything works as you install each item. I also completely forgot about the install directories cause it can be set to either ''IL2 STURMOVIK 1946" or "IL2 STURMOVIK FORGOTTEN BATTLES" I assume I am supposed to install everything to the "1946" directory, I probably didn't make sure each install was set to the right directory.

1946 was a really good year. LOL Yes it goes there. Good luck M8

Thanks for all the help everybody it was the install directory that screwed everything up, now I fully understand why people are making such a big fuss about this update it is awesome. I think that just the RAF campaigns alone will probably ruin my life I'm going to be on this game constantly thank God I don't have school till the 22nd of February.

Nightjar, What does the splashscreen look like when you start the game? That should tell us if you actually have it put together correctly.

What is the location (path) of this air.ini?
Have you installed another air.ini in the MODS folder?
If you have, that one would take precedence over the original one, which is in the Files folder, and might explain the missing planes.

The installers for both 4.0 and 4.1 are a bit wonky in the default install path...the default is something referring to Pacific Fighters or Forgotten Battles, so it's easy, if you're not paying close attention, to install to the wrong location and be none the wiser about it.

Sounds like you are on the verge of figuring this out, though.

Bombay Doors Plus v2.5.3
Flushy's Cloud Mod (from UI.1.1.1)
FMB+ (from UI.1.1.1)
Prop Text (from UI.1.1.1)

And these AC....

Skyraider, CANT1007 and Spitfire MkXVIe, but my installation of the Sabre (which worked with UI 1.1.1) causes freeze at 100% of mission loading both with QMB and FMB (with movable cursor, but strange, lavender-coloured effects on clicking Esc. The only solution to which is Task Manager end program).

how do you manually add aircraft in hsfx? i tried putting the aircraft folders in the MODS folder and then updated the plane_ru, weapons_ru, and air.ini files like i used to in UI 1.2

i am hoping to get the following aircraft:
Cant 1007
Cant 1007t
Tu-4
PBY (the one with torpedos)
Skyraider

I have not actually tried to install any planes in HSFX, so I don't know how. I'm afraid of screwing up a very nicely running game. Perhaps someone else here can help.
Or you might try asking about his over at the SAS site.
